Attractive communities are important to us. As part of our social commitment, each year we award grants to associations and people who have excelled or done valuable work in their field: sports, culture or community engagement.

The recipients of LKAB’s grants 2023.

Since the mid-80s, we have awarded grants for sports and culture every year, to support and recognise associations or people at our locations who have excelled or done valuable work in their field. Previous recipients include the writer Åsa Larsson, the artist Sofia Jannok and the skiers Markus Hellner and Charlotte Kalla.

Grant for community engagement

Everywhere there are people, groups or associations who do that little extra to add a golden edge to other people’s lives – people who, without any financial gain of their own, contribute to making it a little nicer for us who live here, at our locations in the north. It can be a passionate person who puts a lot of time and commitment into something that benefits others, a commitment that creates meetings between people, or perhaps offers something that was previously missing in the area.

The scholarships are worth SEK 75,000 and are awarded every spring.

Grant criteria

Sports: Goes to an association or person who has excelled or done valuable deeds in sports, preferably a young promising talent.
