ABB is an important part of our project to set a new world standard for mining, and as Hub manager North Europe, Process Industries at ABB, Björn Jonsson plays a key role in that.

During Expo 2020, he took part in our Deep talk ”Digital, autonomous and electric – setting a new world standard for mining”.
Following the session, he spoke to us about his take-aways from the discussion:
”Mining is a key industry segment in making this transition towards a sustainable future, and to have innovative forward-looking companies like LKAB taking the lead is great to see”
Making the transformation a reality will require both great investment from individual companies, and collaboration between key players in the industry. This, in turn, will be beneficial to all involved, says Björn:
”All our research and development plans are well aligned with the development in the Sustainable Underground Mining project going forward. We can help LKAB become more sustainable and at the same time grow our own business”.
