Your Role
We are looking for a Research Engineer in Process Mineralogy/Geometallurgy to help us develop sustainable, climate-neutral processes for iron ore and its by-products. LKAB is transitioning to carbon dioxide-free production and needs to enhance orebody knowledge for better understanding of downstream processes within geometallurgy.
In this role, you will be part of the Kiruna R&D team, focusing on ore characterization and laboratory geometallurgical testing. You will work across all phases of studies, from conceptual to operational tasks, collaborating closely with exploration, mine geology, and mineral processing teams. Key responsibilities include conducting lab trials, managing data, and preparing reports.
What You Bring
As a research engineer/specialist in mineral processing, you should have:
- A master’s degree or equivalent qualification (PhD) in Earth Sciences
- Specialization in Economic Geology, Mineralogy, or Geometallurgy is considered beneficial
- Knowledge of analytical techniques such as OM, SEM-TIMA, XRD, and EPMA
- Experience working in a lab environment and reporting data
- Good knowledge in English, spoken and written.
- A valid B driving license, as it is required for all positions within LKAB
