New version of LKAB’s Supplier Handbook launched 

An updated version of LKAB’s Supplier Handbook is now available. The handbook is an important tool for creating safe, sustainable, and efficient workplaces together with our suppliers. 

The Supplier Handbook is a governing document and a guide for work within LKAB’s industrial areas in Kiruna, Svappavaara, Malmberget, and Luleå Ore Harbour. At the same time, it is available to the entire LKAB organisation and contains requirements, guidelines, and ways of working that are relevant in other parts of the business as well. The handbook is primarily aimed at suppliers’ management teams and brings together important information on areas such as the work environment, environmental management, vehicular traffic, security, and safety. 

Updates in the new edition 

The 2026 edition includes new requirements, clarifications, and updated ways of working. Sections covering alcohol and drugs, non-compliance with requirements, Lockout & Tagout, and hot work have been updated. Language and communication requirements have been clarified through new sections, and an entirely new section on invasive alien species has been added. 

The handbook also includes information about the digital safety solution used in LKAB’s mines (Mobilaris is introduced at LKAB’s mines), as well as the new system for applying for access to our facilities (New system for entrance permit applications – Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara AB). 

In addition, a number of chapters have been subject to minor language revisions. For a complete overview of all changes, please refer to the Supplier Handbook.
