Foundation for sustainable transformation in the mining and mineral industry
We believe in the power of research, innovation and cooperation to achieve the change necessary for our society. An important part of this is the foundation we founded, to support research and education at Luleå University of Technology, and other institutions.
We’re convinced that strong research and education environments, which benefit both us and strengthen the mining and minerals industry as a whole, are crucial for our own success and the region’s. That’s why we created the Foundation for Sustainable Transformation in the Mining and Mineral Industry.
The foundation actively support and promotes crucial scientific research and education, primarily at Luleå University of Technology, but also at other institutions. Through the foundation’s work, we actively contribute to building a more sustainable and innovative future.
As part of this, we want to ensure that the research and education we support is relevant today and tomorrow. To facilitate the ongoing transition and meet the challenges ahead, we are focusing the foundation’s efforts on six priority areas:

- Mine
- Processing
- Energy and hydrogen
- Sustainable management of residual products and water
- Stakeholder involvement, social acceptance and sustainable business
