"I am pleased to welcome Michael Palo as our Senior Vice President, Production, Northern Division in his new role in the enormous task of building an LKAB that is sustainable over the long term," says Jan Moström, LKAB's President and CEO.
Michael Palo is currently Mine Manager for Boliden’s Kristineberg mine and has been employed in various positions with Boliden since 2011. Between 2007 and 2010 he worked in LKAB’s research unit. He has an MSc in mechanical engineering from Luleå University of Technology.
“I am very honoured,” says Michael Palo. “As a native of the orefields and a former LKAB employee it will be exciting to move north again and take part in managing the work of making the world’s biggest underground mine, the Kiruna mine, economically, environmentally and socially sustainable over the long term,” concludes Michael Palo, soon-to-be Senior Vice President, Northern Division.
Michael Palo will assume his new position on 15 August 2018.
