About the application
- On the summer jobs page you’ll find information about and links to available summer jobs. You can also find them via Available jobs – LKAB.
- We accept your application via LKAB.com. In each job ad there’s an “apply now” option. Please note that we do not accept applications by email or phone.
- Each job ad states what your application should contain. Read carefully and attach the requested documents in you application.
- Email your addition to rekrytering@lkab.com. Remember to state which application it concerns. We do our best to assist you, but as we handle a large volume of applications during the recruitment period, updating information in an application that has already been submitted may take some time. Therefore, it is important that you carefully review your application before submitting it.
- In addition to the basic requirements (you have turned 18 and have a driver’s license), we look at things such as when you are available to start your summer job, that you can work all summer and that you have some idea of where to stay during your summer with us. Since previous experience from similar jobs is a merit, we prioritise those applications.
- If we decide to proceed with your application, we will contact you primarily via email, though we may also call you. If you advance through the recruitment process and participate in a final interview with the hiring manager, you will receive feedback from them once a decision has been made. Please note that we call from phone numbers starting with +46 10. As we handle a large volume of applications and use a rolling selection process, it is difficult to specify exactly how long the recruitment process will take. We work as quickly as possible and send regular email updates so you know where you stand in the process.
Requirements
- For most of our summer jobs, you need to:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Have started or completed upper secondary education
• Hold a Category B driver’s license for manual transmission
Many positions also require good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Any additional requirements are specified in the respective job advertisement. - It depends on the summer job you are applying for. Many of our positions do not require specific qualifications, while certain roles demand education or experience in areas such as maintenance, electrical work, industry, or construction. For some positions, we look for students or individuals who have started or completed university-level studies. You can always find information regarding educational requirements in the specific job advertisement.
About the jobs
- When considering which summer jobs suit you, it is helpful to take a few different factors into account. Start by reviewing the available work periods, as different summer jobs have different start and end dates; it is important that you are able to work during the period specified in the job advertisement. Also, consider the location where you would like to work. We offer summer jobs in Kiruna, Svappavaara, Gällivare, and Luleå. You are responsible for ensuring that you have accommodation in the location where you are applying for work. Think about the type of work environment that suits you best as well. Our summer jobs are available across various operations and settings—such as outdoors, in workshops, in processing plants, and underground. Therefore, read the advertisement carefully and consider which tasks and environments you would feel most motivated and comfortable working in.
- As a temporary worker, you work full-time. Hours vary depending on the position. Some roles involve shift work, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts, while others are daytime work only. In your application, you can indicate your preferred shift pattern.
- All jobs have different salaries and you will learn what the salary is for the job you are applying for.
- As a temporary worker, it is important that you are available throughout the summer. Most jobs have either weekends off or weeks off and we’d prefer for you to schedule any travel on your days off.
- Yes, we make sure you get an introduction to the job and a chance to learn everything you need to know. We want you to feel safe and prepared before you start work. The scope of the onboarding process may vary depending on the position and workplace, but you will receive the information and resources you need to settle into the role.
- That is difficult to say, in some cases there is a continued need for staff during the fall, but it depends on how the need looks at the particular workplace.
