Planned maintenance

Maintenance stops are an important part of our reliability. During them, we carry out reactive and proactive maintenance and implement improvements.

For a company like LKAB, well-planned maintenance is a prerequisite for profitable and safe operations. And nothing is more important than safety.

For example, the complexity of our work means that we need to pause certain industrial activities a few times per year in order to carry out major maintenance, repairs and improvements in a way that is safe for both our employees and all suppliers.

The goals of our maintenance stops are:

• No injuries or incidents during the stops.
• The time and cost framework are met.
• We have upgraded and well-functioning facilities and operations afterwards.
