Niklas Johansson is the new Senior Vice President of the Communication and Climate Unit. Niklas is also a member of the Group Management at LKAB.

Niklas holds an MBA and has a broad experience from both government and industry, with previous positions including Deputy CEO and Head of Communications for a small international industrial group.

He joins the company from the post of State Secretary, where he was first of all State Secretary to Mikael Damberg when he was Minister for Enterprise and Innovation, and then State Secretary to Ann Linde when she was Minister for Foreign Trade.

“I’d like to welcome Niklas as SVP Communication. This sends out an important message that we are now highlighting the issue of climate as an important feature not only of our internal work, but also of our external communication activities,” says Jan Moström, President and CEO.

“It is, to put it mildly, a special time to get into this with the immediate challenge we’re seeing right now with Covid-19, but also with the future investments and faith in the future that exists in the company when it comes to our business. LKAB is currently a pioneer in the mining industry, not least when it comes to the alarming climate issue. At the same time, I believe that we have a duty to inform the world at large about the work we are doing and the conditions that apply to us. It feels really great to be coming to work at LKAB,” says Niklas Johansson.
