Important information for suppliers – New routines for photography, filming, audio recording and the LKAB brand

January 9, 2026

LKAB has introduced new Group routines for photography, filming, audio recording and the way our brand may be used. The routines apply to all suppliers and partners working in or adjacent to LKAB operations.

The objective is to protect our facilities, information and brand in an era in which the security situation is less than certain and interest in LKAB is on the rise, both nationally and internationally.

What the new routines involve for suppliers

1. Photography, filming and audio recording are prohibited without written consent.

The prohibition also applies to the dissemination of images, films and sound recordings both internally and externally.

2. The use of the LKAB brand and trademark is subject to consent.

The LKAB name, logo and images may not be used without written approval from LKAB. This applies both when the LKAB trademark is used alone and when it appears together with another company’s trademark.

With the exception of logos on their own equipment and site signboards where supplier logos may appear below the LKAB trademark, suppliers are not permitted to display their companies’ own logos in LKAB areas or operating locations.

3. While exemptions may be granted, they must be applied for in advance.

If a strategic benefit to LKAB is deemed to exist at the time of application, an exemption may be granted. The material may only be used in the assignment and may not be disseminated. All external publication in e.g. social media and the press requires the approval of the communications department.

If photography is necessary for documentation that forms part of an assignment, there is no need to apply for an exemption.

LKAB will reply either with an approval or rejection. In general, LKAB takes a restrictive approach.

Why the routines are important

The new routines clarify what is applicable for all parties, and they reduce the risk of inadvertent dissemination of sensitive information or images. The routines also help us and our suppliers take a uniform approach, and they strengthen confidence in LKAB and our partnerships.
