The roles
The geophysics team employs a range of geophysical methods, including potential field, electromagnetic and seismic surveys. Downhole geophysical logging is also frequently used in connection with the drilling. The project range covers near-mine to greenfield exploration, and the former can involve underground work. The geophysics group also supports projects within other areas of the company and is involved in R&D projects in cooperation with universities or other research institutes.
The work duties typically include fieldwork, some data processing, and sometimes also writing shorter reports. You will work together with geologists, technicians, drillers, and other geophysicists, sometimes from external organizations.
What you bring
- The positions require you to have started a college or university education within geophysics alternatively an engineering or Earth science education at a similar level containing geophysical courses.
- Experience with field work.
- For all positions at LKAB, you must also have a driving licence (B).
- Desirable if you have used any of the programs: oasis, Montaj (OM), Modelvision or GIS etc
- Desirable if you have experience in mining exploration.
Please note: Eligibility to work in Sweden is a mandatory requirement for this summer employment, and we are unable to provide employer sponsorship for summer workers.

Information about the recruitment process
Submit your application no later than January 11th, 2026. Please include your CV and answer our selection questions, as they form the basis for the initial screening.
We will start the selection process on January 12 and plan to schedule interviews between February 1 and March 15.
In order to be considered for a summer job, we expect you to be available to work at least from mid-June to mid-August 2026.
