Laboratory technician, LKAB Minerals

About the position
LKAB is establishing a new laboratory on Svartön in Luleå. With the goal to perform hydrometallurgical research and development. This will strengthen and develop internal competence towards in the phosphoric acid production process.
We are now looking for you who wants to be a part of the startup of the laboratory. As one of the first colleagues of the lab you will be taking part in developing routines, analasys methods, and setting the standard for the culture.
A typical working day as a laboratory technician may include:
- Participate in planning and implementation of research and product development assignments
- Carry out laboratory tests, and analyzes of products and raw materials. Assess the reasonableness of the results obtained
- Participate in pilot work
- Participate in the development of analysis methods
- Assist with analyzes and investigation assignments
- Process optimization and follow-up
Your qualifications
To suit this role you hold an education as a process operator, laboratory technician or a university degree within chemistry, chemical engineering or related fields. Experience in hydrometallurgy is metorious. It is a merit if you have prior experience working in an industrial research laboratory. Introduction and work tasks will be based on your education, background and experience.
A systematic and independent way of working is a prerequisite, in addition to that you need to be flexible, adaptive in changing situations, analytical and open to exchange of experience. If you have knowledge of pilot scale test runs and related analytics it is an advantage.
